The groups and teams for the 2016 World Juniors will be announced after the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship, based on the final standings.

For the game schedule to be finalized, hockey fans need to be more patient.

“We have different versions of the game schedule prepared, and the approval process can start right after the groups are finalized,” Deputy General Secretary Tuula Puputti explains. “To be approved, the game schedule needs to be signed by each playing team as well as the IIHF.”

However, what is already clear is that preliminary round and quarter-finals will be played in both arenas. Home team Finland will play the preliminary round at the main venue, Hartwall Arena.

The relegation round is played at the Helsinki Ice Hall, while semifinals (4th January) and medal games (5th January) take place in the Hartwall Arena.
