The Ice Hockey Federation of Russia has extended the contract with national junior team coach Valeri Bragin for the upcoming season.

Bragin will coach Russia at the IIHF World Junior Championship for the fifth time next winter. One of the most successful coaches in the category in recent years, Bragin led the Russians to gold in 2011 and to silver medals in 2005, 2012 and 2015. He also won U18 gold with Russia in 2004.

At the World Juniors that will be held in the Finnish capital of Helsinki from 26th December to 5th January, Russia will play against Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Finland and Belarus at Hartwall Arena during the preliminary round.
