When the teams prepare for the World Juniors several exhibition games will be played in December.

Before the first puck drop on 26 December, the participating teams will get ready for the tournament with training camps and exhibition games against local teams as well as against each other.

Canada’s road to the 2016 World Juniors will start with two games played in Toronto. After flying to Finland the defending champion will face Belarus and the Czech Republic in Imatra, a location familiar from the 2014 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship. TSN will broadcast all Team Canada exhibition games back to Canada.

Sweden and Denmark will first meet in Huddinge, Sweden, on 18 December before travelling to Finland, while Team USA has a date set with the University of Massachusetts Amherst before their arrival in Finland, where both teams have two practice games scheduled before their opening game of the tournament.

Host country Finland will play Switzerland in Hameenlinna on Monday, 21 December. The following day the Finns will meet Team USA in Lahti.
